2010 Saskatchewan Budget Highlights
The Province of Saskatchewan is tightening its belt after a shortfall in potash revenues for 2009. Saskatchewan Finance Minister, Rod Gantefoer unveiled the spending cuts this afternoon during the official reading of the 2010 Budget at the Legislature.
Budget Highlights Include: The disbandment of SCN, The Saskatchewan Communications Network; A 15 percent reduction in public service employees over a four year span; Infrastructure projects in the Province will see an allocation of $632 Million including $177 Million for Municipalities and $302 Million for Saskatchewan Roads and Highways; Meanwhile Health Regions will see a 5 percent increase or $123 Million, $10.5 Million to Reduce Surgical Waitlists and $7 Million for the Patient First Initiatives Fund.
