January 22-28 is Family Literacy Week in Swift Current with a number of activities planned in the community. A Family Fun Night is set for Thursday night at Great Plains College and Reading with the Stars at the Swift Current Mall on Friday.

Bula Ghosh of the Southwest Literacy Committee made a presentation to Swift Current City Council on Monday. In her report she stated that 2 out of 5 Canadians lacks solid literacy skills.
