Well into the first quarter of the year and the Cypress Health Region is still predicting a surplus for the 2012. $1.8 Million is the dollar amount announced by the Region at this week's board meeting in Swift Current.

Beth Vachon, CEO of the Cypress Health Region indicates the surplus at this point in time is attributed to a number of factors including unexpected funding for an LPN program, increased revenues from Long Term Care and healthcare professional vacancies. Vachon stresses the staffing vacancies is an issue that the Health Region is actively looking to resolve.
