Now through January 28 is Family Literacy Week with a number of events nationwide. Here in Swift Current Reading with the Stars is taking place at the Swift Current Mall focusing on the importance of reading to young children.

According to stats supplied by the Southwest Literacy Committee, 2 out of 5 Canadians lacks solid literacy skills.
