Swift Current's own Jackie Powell and Jayci Wittmeier will carry the Rick Hansen Medal as Hansen's 25th Anniversary Relay travels across Canada this year. The Relay will pass through the City on February 13. Swift Current is one of the over 600 Canadian communities to host the Rick Hansen 25th Anniversary Relay as it travels 12,000 km from coast to coast.

Jackie Powell seen in this SWTV News File Image has been a Swim Coach with Special Olympics since 1995 and won Canadian Coach of the Year in 2007. Jayci Wittmeier has been an inspiration to all ages with her desire to walk again following a car accident in 2009 which left her with a spinal cord injury.
