Maple Creek Area Highways Update
Two weeks after the devastating flood waters caused damage to the Town of Maple Creek and several area roads and highways, motorists can resume their regular routes. The #271 Highway from Maple Creek to Fort Walsh has now re-opened and tourists can once again use this access road to such area attractions as Fort Walsh and the Maple Creek Winery.
Elsewhere around Maple Creek,The Eastbound Lane of the #1 Highway from Jct. Hwy 21 to the Alberta Border is OPEN.Traffic on the Eastbound lane is restricted to two way traffic from 1.6 to 4.8 kms West of Jct. 1and 21, as the Westbound lane remains CLOSED from 1.6 to 4.8 kms West of Jct. 1and 21. Reduced Speed is Required.
The Westbound Lane of Highway #1 from Jct Hwy 21 to Alberta Border is OPEN with a restricted section from 1.6 to 4.8 kms West of Jct. 1and 21 - due to Road construction. Detour signs are in place and Reduced speed required. The Lancer Ferry remains Closed, Due to High Water.
