City and Provincial dignitaries gathered at the Highway 1 and 4 interchange Tuesday morning for a special ribbon cutting ceremony of the newly completed project. The event marks the completion of the interchange upgrades complete with new traffic lights.

The highway project was a collaboration between the Province of Saskatchewan and the City of Swift Current. The Province invested $6.5 Million towards the overall improvements to the area while the City of Swift Current contributed to the overall design work and managed the project. The official paperwork between the City and the Province was signed back in late 2008 with actual construction on the project started one year later and now fully completed in September of 2010.
