Around 4:15pm on Friday, Shaunavon RCMP attended to a 911 call from a Male who was threatening to hurt himself with a gun at his residence in Eastend. Shaunavon RCMP immediately attended the scene and requested the assistance of the Maple Creek RCMP. RCMP were then able to establish telephone communication with the Male inside the home. While speaking with the RCMP, the Male discharged the firearm twice inside the home firing at objects within the residence. Negotiations continued and the Male was later taken into RCMP custody without further incident. A 22 caliber revolver and ammunition were seized from the residence. No one was injured during the incident.

Friday's incident remains under RCMP investigation.
