Windchill Warning for Swift Current Area
Environment Canada has issued a Windchill Warning for areas of Southwest Saskatchewan including Swift Current Herbert, Cabri, Kyle and Lucky Lake. Bitterly cold Arctic air combined with northwesterly winds of 15 to 20 km/h will produce wind chill values of -40 or lower overnight into Wednesday morning. Northern portions of the grainbelt will likely see the most extreme wind chill values. In these areas overnight temperatures will drop to between minus 35 and minus 40 c with wind chill values near -45 expected by Wednesday morning.At these extreme wind chill values frostbite on exposed skin may occur in less than 10 minutes. Light Snow ending Tonight with a Low of -35 and a Windchill of -46. Partly Sunny on Wednesday, a High of -27 and an Extreme Windchill of -48. Sunny and -23 for Thursday; Cloudy with Flurries by Friday and a High of -18. A chance of Showers and a forecast High of +2 on Saturday.
The normal High for this time of the year is -9 with an overnight Low of -19.
