Windchill Warning Remains in Effect for Swift Current Area
Environment Canada's Windchill Warning continues for Southwest Saskatchewan. Bitterly cold Arctic air combined with westerly winds of 15 to 30 km/h will produce wind chill values in the -40 to -49 range throughout most of Southern Saskatchewan Tonight through Thursday. At these extreme wind chill values frostbite on exposed skin may occur in less than 10 minutes.
Temperatures will begin to moderate slightly on Friday as a low pressure system approaches from the west. By Saturday temperatures will have returned to the single digits over most of the province as the storm pushes snow and milder temperatures in from the Southwest. The forecast calls for a Few Clouds Tonight and a Low of -32 with a Windchill of -46. Sunshine on Thursday, a High of -22 with a Windchill of -43. Clear and Cold for Thursday night with a Low of -30 and a Windchill value of -41. Friday's outlook calls for Sunshine and a High of -19. Heading into the weekend, Cloudy on Saturday with a High of +1. Sunshine and warming up to +1 by Sunday.
The normal High for this time of the year is -9 with an overnight Low of -19.
