Saturday started with the Credit Union’s annual pancake breakfast. Pancakes soaked in syrup were served red hot off the grill to over 800. The pre-parade tradition filled the bellies of many as they lined the streets to watch the kiddie and Boomtown Days parade. This year parade theme of “As seen on TV” drew many colourful characters and floats, including TLC’s What Not to Wear, The Flintstones, and the Beverley Hillbillies. Mayor Sharon Dickie and MP David Anderson also made appearances in the Boomtown Days’ parade. Kids games, a barbeque lunch, old tyme Blue Grass bands followed by more rodeo wrapped up the Saturday’s events. The celebration concluded with Sunday in the Park.
